Combination of per Tone Equalization and Windowing Indmt -

چکیده
High speed Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) systems transmit signals that overlap in spectrum with the bands used for radio communications. AM broadcast stations and radio amateur transmitters result into electromagnetic interference impairing the DSL-receiver. For Discrete Multitone (DMT) systems, windowing, in combination with Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) cancellation has been proposed to make DSL-transceivers robust to radio ingress. This paper shows how win-dowing has an equivalent implementation by means of per tone equalizers. Attractive to the per tone equalizer structure is that per carrier, the equalizer can be optimized to reduce susceptibility to RFI.

Combining raised cosine windowing and per tone equalization for RFI mitigation in DMT receivers
Discrete multitone (DMT) offers an elegant way to achieve high capacity, dividing the spectrum into small bands and processing these individually. The per tone equalizer (PTEQ) optimizes the capacity for each band individually, thus optimizing the whole. However, it provides little protection against narrow band radio frequency interference (RFI), being spread over all tones because of the high...
متن کاملPer tone equalization for DMT-based systems
An alternative receiver structure is presented for discrete multitone-based systems. The usual structure consisting of a (real) time-domain equalizer in combination with a (complex) 1-tap frequency-domain equalizer (FEQ) per tone, is modified into a structure with a (complex) multitap FEQ per tone. By solving a minimum mean-square-error problem, the signal-to-noise ratio is maximized for each i...
متن کاملVariable Length Per Tone Equalizers for Multicarrier Systems
Per tone equalization was recently proposed as an alternative equalization structure for multicarrier systems. In this paper we propose two NLMS based variable length per tone equalization algorithms. In the first algorithm, the number of equalizer taps used in every subchannel is determined according to channel conditions which results in a reduction in equalization complexity. While the secon...

متن کاملPer-tone equalization for MIMO-OFDM systems
This paper focuses on Multiple-Input MultipleOutput (MIMO) Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) systems, where the MIMO channel order is larger than the length of the Cyclic Prefix (CP). By swapping the filtering operations of the MIMO channel and the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), it is shown that each tone of a MIMO OFDM system can be viewed as a MIMO Single-Carrier (SC) system. A...
